Eid Al Fitr 2023 - Saturday April 22nd

As Salaam Alaikum and Ramadan Mubarak,

As there was no moon sighting by the shura in the US, Eid Al Fitr will be Saturday, April 22nd. Prayers will start at 9am.

We trust that you all are enjoying Allah’s Bounties during this Blessed month. There will be a conference call this coming Thursday night to ascertain the sighting of new moon and to determine Eid Al Fitr. The new moon can be sighted for a short period after sunset (Maghrib) time.

For the sake of unity of communities in all time zones in the United States and the possibility of moon not being seen within east regions, we will announce after sunset west coast time approximately 11pm.

This is the process that was established by Imam W. Deen Mohammed and designated to Moon Sighting Facilitator Imam I’Zakel M. Pasha of Masjid Malcolm Shabazz. Once moon is confirmed for either Friday 4/21 or Saturday 4/22 we will post on our website.

This year’s Eid prayers will be offered at Masjid NuMan at 9am. A community Eid meal will be shared after Jumah salah on Friday or Saturday Zhur prayer.

On Saturday at 2pm we will distribute food bags to neighbors and the needy. Those who would like to assist in bagging food, can do so at 5pm Thursday 4/20 at the Masjid.
